About Shohei
The little rescue dog who rescued us right back.
Thanks for stopping by to meet our little guy, Shohei, and learn a bit about his story.
We adopted Shohei in September 2024 from The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas. Today, he lives with his doggie Mommy, Daddy, and Sister. Yes — we all take turns holding and cuddling him. We are not always the most patient waiting our turn with the little guy, but we always play nice.
Shohei came into our lives during a difficult time. We were still grieving the loss of our previous beloved golden retriever. Losing her was heartbreaking, and at the time, it felt like something we could never do again. But she taught us how to love deeply — and how to share that love when the time was right.
Shohei Intro
We do not know much about Shohei’s background. What we do know is that he was removed from a difficult environment and was clearly starving for love when we found each other.
From day one, Shohei made it very clear: he was this family’s lap dog — and he wasn’t going anywhere. He and his doggie Daddy go on multiple walks every day, and if Daddy is working, running errands, or heading anywhere, there is a strong chance Shohei is right there, supervising.
He loves and adores his sister. They always sneak in a quick cuddle, and every night Shohei politely knocks on her door to be tucked into Mommy and Daddy’s bed. He also loves taking her to work and picking her up, because important dogs have important schedules.
Mommy takes him shopping, makes sure bedtime always includes a belly rub, and — let’s be honest — keeps him included in everything we do. He lives for his routines: bedtime and breakfast with Mommy, staying close in case snacks accidentally drop, and making sure his family sticks together.
